STUDENTS
Regalia & Commencement FAQ
Students may pick up their cap, gown, and tassel at the OTC Bookstore or during our graduation prep event from 10am - 1pm on April 3rd located in the Plaster Manufacturing Center.
Students can check in with their student services at any OTC location to place an order for their cap, gown, and tassel. The items will be shipped to that location for the student to pick up.
Student regalia (cap, gown, and tassel) is provided at no additional cost to students
OTC Commencement will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 @ 5PM, at the Great Southern Bank Arena on the Missouri State University campus. Visit this website for the latest information about OTC’s commencement ceremonies. As information becomes available it will be posted there.
Upon picking up your items, please remove gown from the package and place on a hanger to allow wrinkles and folds to fall out prior to graduation. Should you want to iron your gown, turn inside out and press with a cool iron.

All PTK items (cords, stoles and medallions) can be purchased at the OTC Bookstore when you pick up your regalia.
FACULTY
The graduation committee has offered the following observations and recommendations for faculty and staff participating in the commencement ceremony. The tradition of these standards should be departed from as little as possible to preserve the symbolism (which dates back to the Middle Ages) and practicality.
Cords, Stoles, & Medallions are not traditionally worn by faculty/staff unless specified by the commencement committee.
