Return Policy

The staff of the OTC Bookstore strives to make your visit to our store as easy and efficient as possible. Our return policy has been designed to assist us in this goal, and we have made it available to you so that you may know what to expect from us. Always keep your receipt, and have it available when making a return or exchange, as this will greatly ease the processing of your transaction.


Textbooks:

NEW textbooks must be in new condition for full refund.


For full refund or exchange, textbooks purchased for the current semester may be returned with a receipt during the first TWO WEEKS of classes of the Fall and Spring semesters. • Summer semester textbooks are returnable for a full refund through the FIRST WEEK of the semester. • Intersession textbooks are returnable ONLY with receipt by the end of the 2nd day of class.


After the first TWO WEEKS of the Fall and Spring semesters, textbooks are returnable within THREE BUSINESS DAYS from the date of purchase with receipt.

AutoAccess Print Upgrades MUST BE IN THEIR ORIGINAL CONDITION to be eligible for return.

NEW textbook bundles returned in an opened condition will be refunded at the USED price. Department heads decide upon and send the bookstore their list of materials required for class; the bookstore follows these guidelines when ordering materials, although some professors may use only some or none of the established required items. Please check with your individual professor whether you will be using all listed materials before opening book bundles or scratching off access codes, as we cannot provide refunds for scratched-off access codes.


Refunds of cash or check transactions will be processed onto an OTC campus gift card.


Book Buyback Policy - Highest buyback prices are given during the last week of classes and finals week.

General Merchandise:

Eligibility:

To be eligible for a full return or exchange, items must have been purchased within the past 3 business days, be unopened or in a resalable condition, and accompanied with their receipt.


If the item has been opened, it is returnable only if it is defective and may only be exchanged for another copy of the same item.


If we are out of stock of that item, we will place a special order for that item.


If the purchase date is past 3 business days, the customer is responsible for contacting the manufacturer.


Process:

All returns should be handled at the Customer Service counter in the Bookstore.

Mail in returns:

The OTC Bookstore will allow mail-in returns until the end of the FIRST WEEK of classes; you must contact us with the link above or by email at bookstore@otc.edu; a UPS return label will be emailed upon approval. Prior authorization is required for all mail-in returns; unauthorized returns will be kept and no refund will be processed.
